An application or re-application fee and a testing fee per component are charged for each Application for Admission submitted.

AAS requires a High School Diploma or GED; TD requires Ability to Benefit

Note: Transferable General Education Courses needed to meet the requirements for the AAS are offered through a collaborative agreement with South Louisiana Community College (SLCC).

This program does not have special considerations or information.

The objectives of the Office Systems Technology program are to provide knowledge and skills training that will enable students to:
  • Acquire job seeking skills necessary for employment in the field.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of program terminology.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the nature, purpose, and principles of accounting for a service, retail and merchandise enterprises.
  • Compose and produce mailable business documents and other written communications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and perform keyboarding, spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in Desktop Publishing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in machine transcriptions.
  • Demonstrate and apply business English and math principles.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge in office procedures and total quality management.
  • Develop communication skills, self-esteem, professional appearance, and resume writing.
  • Gain competencies necessary for AAS transferable Education course completion in English, Math, Speech, Psychology, and Physical Science.
