An application or re-application fee and a testing fee per component are charged for each Application for Admission submitted.

AAS requires a High School Diploma or GED; TD requires Ability to Benefit

Note:  Transferable General Education courses needed to met the requirements for the AAS are offered through a collaborative agreement with South Louisiana Community College (SLCC). The Drafting & Design AAS program at the Lafayette Campus is ATMAE accredited.

This program does not have special considerations or information.

The objectives of the Drafting and Design Technology program are to:
  • Provide training to enable students to demonstrate knowledge and utilize skills involving identification and drawing of section conventions and different types of sectional views.
  • Provide training to enable students to demonstrate knowledge and utilize skills involving application of basic use of commands and components of a CADD Work Station.
  •  Provide training to enable students to demonstrate knowledge and utilize skills involving general background information, terms and conventions, and the various types of working drawings used in architectural and structural drawing.
  • Provide training to enable students to demonstrate knowledge and utilize skills involving elements of transportation mapping and structural elements of civil drafting.
  • Provide students with job seeking skills necessary for employment in the field.
  • Provide AAS degree seeking students with appropriate General Education knowledge and skills in English, Math, Speech, Psychology, and Physical Science.
