AAS requires a High School Diploma or GED; TD requires Ability to Benefit

Note: Transferable General Education Courses needed to meet the requirements for the AAS are offered through a collaborative agreement with South Louisiana Community College (SLCC).

This program does not have special considerations or information.

The objectives of the Graphic Communications/Desktop Publishing program are to provide:
  • Students with knowledge, skills, and attitude that prepare them for employment in the field.
  • Students with knowledge and skills training involving prepress and production.
  • Students with skills training in the use of bindry equipment.
  • Skills training that will prepare students to assist in the printing process in a simulated work environment or in an actual print shop.
  • Skills training that will enable students to assist in the prepress preparation of jobs.
  • Students with knowledge and skills involving prepress activities in the preparation of a job using computers for layout.
  • Training on how to prepare documents and graphics to be used in a completed layout for production.
  • Training in how to prepare and edit photographs in a document for complete job production.
  • Provide AAS degree seeking students with appropriate General Education knowledge and skills in English, Math, Speech, Psychology, and Physical Science.
