An application or re-application fee and a testing fee per component are charged for each Application for Admission submitted.

AAS requires a High School Diploma or GED; TD requires Ability to Benefit

Note: Transferable General Education Courses needed to meet the requirements for the AAS are offered through a collaborative agreement with South Louisiana Community College (SLCC).

This program does not have special considerations or information.

The objectives of the Accounting Technology program are to:
  • Equip students with the following technical knowledge and skills that enable employment in the field:
    • A working knowledge of course terminology.
    • Knowledge of the nature and purpose of accounting.
    • The accounting cycle for a corporation, service, retail, and partnership company.
    • Accounting for cash, cash items, payroll procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, inventory, property plant and equipment, write-offs, notes and interest, stocks, bonds, investments, intangible assets.
    • Preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements.
    • Basic and advanced computer skills spreadsheet, database, keyboarding, and word processing applications.
    • Composition and production of mailable, effective business documents and other written communications.
    • Fundamentals of English and basic business mathematical functions.
    • A working knowledge in office procedures and total quality management.
    • Building self-esteem, professional appearance, and resume writing
  • Provide AAS degree seeking students with appropriate General Education knowledge and skills in English, Math, Speech, Psychology,  and Physical Science
