Louisiana Technical College receives Software Donation from Frank’s and Vector Graphics Inc.
Louisiana Technical College has been awarded a software grant, for a total of (50) Licenses of Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009 through the Autodesk “Invest in Education” Program. Area Campuses in Lafayette, New Iberia, Crowley, Abbeville and Opelousas have each received (10) licenses each of Autodesk Inventor Professional Software. This grant was sponsored by Frank’s along with Autodesk and Vector Graphics Inc. The commercial value of the Inventor software provided to Louisiana Technical College exceeds $300,000. In addition, Vector Graphics Inc has donated their time and resources to train the respective campus instructors to get them up to speed on how to use the software and successfully implement the software into their drafting programs.
Autodesk Invest in Education Program
Autodesk® is proud to offer the Invest in Education Program which connects commercial companies with education institutions and their local community. The commercial companies who participate in this program will help foster the next generation of designers, architects and engineers. Frank’s, Mike Webre, participated in this program and chose Louisiana Technical College as the recipient of this grant.
Description of Software awarded in Grant - (50) Licenses of Inventor Professional 2009
AUTODESK INVENTOR PROFESSIONAL 2009 – bundled with AutoCAD/ACAD Mechanical& Mechanical Desktop, Autodesk® Inventor™ software is the foundation for Digital Prototyping, producing an accurate 3D model that validates the form, fit, and function of a design before it is built. The Autodesk Inventor product line provides an integrated set of tools for 3D mechanical design and documentation, creating routed systems, and digitally validating design data to minimize the need for physical prototypes. Inventor lets users reuse valuable DWG™ data to build accurate 3D part models, reducing the risk of inaccurate data translations. Product bundles include AutoCAD® Mechanical for associative 2D and 2D collaborations, and data management software to manager and track all the design components of digital prototype. Inventor Professional 2009 comes bundled with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Mechanical, Mechanical Desktop and Autodesk Vault.
