Program
The AWARE program was developed to
provide parents with information and
resources in their role of the development
of their child's career. This workshop
is a hands-on interactive program between
parents and students. The outcomes of
the workshop are for the parents to
be aware of:
- the impact they have on their
child's career decisions
- the resources available to them
in this process,
- the fact that career development
is a process with stages
- the planning involved that will
save time, money and build self-esteem

The mission of the CHOICES Education
Group is to empower students with the
critical tools that will increase their
career and life opportunities.
CHOICES 8th Grade Program is delivered
by over 100 business volunteers and
impacts approximately 3,000 students
in Iberia, St. Martin & Vermilion Parishes.
CHOICES Covers a Wide Range of Topics:
- Becoming acquainted with the
pressures, influences, expectations
and environments affecting "Who
I am"
- Making thoughtful decisions
about my future
- Learning about decisions and
their consequences
- Exploring time and money management
- Relating academic decisions
to career consequences
- Increasing options in an uncertain
world
- Learning to think beyond myself
- Making a plan to take charge
of my life
- Obtaining the "Key to Success"

First Responder
The demand of Nationally Registered
Emergency Medical Technicians is increasing
rapidly. The utilization of these highly
trained individuals ranges from ambulance
services to offshore drilling companies
worldwide to hospitals, industrial safety,
and various other allied health career
providers. Job opportunities in
this field are in great abundance in
the state of Louisiana.
As a first responder you will represent
the first critical link between a patient's
injury or illness and the care provided
by other EMS professionals. You will
gain valuable experience assisting with
the care of medical and trauma victims.
*Certificate received upon completion
of course.

A secondary curriculum for 11th and
12th graders based on an industry-driven
model with national skill standards
to address workforce needs of the food
service industry from management to
food service by obtaining skills necessary
to perform operations within a restaurant.
- Combines relevant classroom
activities with paid internships-(400
hours of internship required)
- Opportunity to develop real-world
skills and knowledge by learning
on the job and in the classroom
- Built-in mentoring program
- Obtain national certification
by completion of the ProStart curriculum
- Offers an industry-based certification
in line with the diploma enhancements
recommended to BESE and under consideration.

(Seniors Technically Advancing with
Gulf Area Education)
What is S.T.A.G.E.?
The Seniors Technically Advancing
with Gulf Area Education (S.T.A.G.E.)
program is a joint effort between the
Vermilion Parish School Board, Louisiana
Technical College-Gulf Area Campus,
and Region 4 CTF Program. This program
is available to students enrolled at
either the parochial or public schools.
S.T.A.G.E. will provide students
with advanced technical training in
their chosen career path by attending
Gulf Area Campus in their final high
school year.
S.T.A.G.E. students will earn dual
credits. They will receive high school
elective credits (Carnegie units) and
credit toward a LTC-Gulf Area Campus
Certificate, Diploma or Associate Degree.

(Teche Area Program for Seniors)
What is T.A.P.S.?
The Teche Area Program for Seniors
(T.A.P.S.) program is a joint effort
between the

Technical College-Teche Area Campus

is available to students enrolled at
either the parochial or public schools.
T.A.P.S. will provide students with
advanced technical training in their

Area Campus in their final high school
